Lots of our research for the book was done in libraries. We wore special gloves in order to handle the fragile newspapers here at the basement archives in the  Beverly Hills Library. One of our finds, this old edition from 1923 of “The Citizen: Beverly Hills” features acting superstars of that era Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks. More about their love affair with each other and the city’s love affair with them on p. 15 and 24 of the book.
